In January, 2023, I saw some advertisements on the Richmond, Virginia local TV stations about a new store selling all sorts of growing supplies. I had never heard of Grow Generation before and was excited to go see them and find out more information!
For my Virginia farmer friends that need directions how to get there I’ll tell you the way I go. Grow Generation is located in an old shopping center off Hopkins Road, near Chesterfield, Richmond, VA. The old Chippenham parkway Hopkins Road Exit is hard to get to unless you go off I95 to Chippenham, but For most people who go 288 around Chesterfield County, if you are going east towards I95, simply exit on the Chester Road exit of 288 and go south towards Chester about a block and turn right and cross over the RR Tracks and go another block, then turn right onto Hopkins Road and go the back way to the shopping center. Grow Generation is at 5720 Hopkins Road, Richmond, VA 23234. Phone: 804-554-GROW.
When I first got to the new store I had to stand outside and take a picture and when I walked in I was overwhelmed with amazement at all the cool stuff everywhere! Very exciting to see all the products and stuff. As I was looking around I met a man named Charles as he was working on an item on a shelf and told him about this website.
I loved looking at the awesome selection of grow bags and bought four 45-gallon pots! I got some of their business cards and looked forward to telling my local farmer friend about all the cool stuff I saw there.
Another trip I had my trailer and bought some awesome bags of dirt and big pearlite. They helped bring the bags outside and hand to me as I loaded the trailer and then tied it down good for my return trip.
In June I went on the second Saturday of the month and wanted to see about a ph meter for water. When I arrived at the store I had no idea they had a bunch of vendors with tables and information. I talked to a bunch of folks and had a great time. Charles helped me pick out my new ph meter and also told me he was sorry he missed me when i came in and bought my dirt. He said call ahead the next time and they would have it ready on a pallet for me. Now thats what I’m talking about!
Thank you for being a great new supplier for me and all my farmer friends.
P.S. The four photos at the end of this photo gallery are the 2023 selections I’ll be blogging about and I wanted you to see how great the girls are doing in the pots I got from Grow Generation. 1. Farmer’s Daughter, 2. Apple Blossom, 3. Candy Store, 4. End Game.
